SCULPTURES
Revolver, Still Life, and Lilies are a series of sculptures I have been producing for years. One of my main objectives is to explore and experiment with various concepts and techniques, working with unconventional materials to create harmony between the object and the material. I refer to them as "Pain Objects" because they relate to themes of pain and death. I am interested in the interplay between concept and aesthetics, aiming for the artwork to be satirical and generate controversy. What I enjoy most about this process is the extra effort required to work with materials like animal hides and rose thorns, and to collect onion skins, among others. I continually plan how to give these unlikely materials new meaning.
The Ideal Family Assembly Kit is part of a series of sculptures that explore family and its stereotypes. The aim is to depict vintage toy assembly kits, such as the toy soldiers sold outside schools, to construct the ideal family or the classic happy family as defined by societal stereotypes. This includes a family made up of parents, children, pets, travel, houses, etc., all depicted as perpetually happy.
